Lance O'Donnell

Architect Lance O’Donnell enjoys a lifelong connection to desert living. As a fourth generation Coachella Valley native, Lance received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and his Master of Architecture degree from UCLA. Upon graduation, Lance moved back to the desert and practice his evolving craft. His Palm Springs office, o2 Architecture, is dedicated to discovering the essence of place. His work engages the senses and intellect with a poetic connection to site and ecologically crafted modernism. To this end, sustainable design has always been pursued as a continuous thread woven throughout the design and construction process. Embedded in this thread are immersive explorations into modern social science, technology, building systems, products and construction methods. Each project is taken as an opportunity to discover the aspirations of people and place. Embracing diversity and the dynamic daily and seasonal patterns of place affords o2 Architecture an opportunity to value the past while allowing discovery and resiliency to environmental change.

Lance and his family live in Palm Springs in a LEED Platinum home he designed and built in 2008. The home received an Honor Award from American Institute of Architects, Inland Chapter in 2009.
